Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston Reunite for New Comedy

Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston, who previously co-starred in 2011’s comedy Just Go With It, are teaming up once more. This time the two will work together on upcoming Netflix’s Murder Mystery. The script for the movie was penned by James Vanderbilt, whose previous works include Zodiac, White House Down, and The Amazing Spider-Man. Kyle Newacheck, who brought us another Netflix’s comedy Game Over, Man!, will direct.

According to the synopsis, Murder Mystery focuses on a New York City cop played by Sandler, who takes his wife (Jennifer Aniston) on a trip to Europe. The two immediately make friends on the flight to Europe and receive an invitation to a yacht party hosted by an elderly billionaire. After the billionaire gets murdered, a world of trouble is upon Sandler and Aniston’s characters.

While Adam Sandler has an exclusive deal with Netflix, this will be the first time that Jennifer Aniston partners with the streaming service. Sandler’s Netflix movies are getting regularly panned by the critics, but that doesn’t affect their popularity. According to Netflix, its subscribers spent more than a half-a-billion hours watching Sandler’s movies on the service. The next in line of those movies is The Week Of, which is scheduled for release on April 27th. It will star Sandler, Chris Rock, Rachel Dratch, and Steve Buscemi among others.

Before Murder Mystery hits Netflix, we will have an opportunity to see Jennifer Aniston in upcoming movies Dumplin’ and The Yellow Birds. She will also star in a new Apple TV series alongside Reese Witherspoon.
