Adam Sandler’s collaboration with Netflix is a gift that keeps on giving, and his next film with the streamer might be the most epic one yet. The beloved actor plays an astronaut trying to put his life on Earth back together in the first trailer for the upcoming sci-fi epic Spaceman.
Sandler’s next Netflix project is based on Jaroslav Kalfar’s novel Spaceman of Bohemia, and here’s what it has in store, according to the streamer’s official synopsis:
“As an astronaut sent to the edge of the galaxy to collect mysterious ancient dust finds his earthly life falling to pieces, he turns to the only voice who can help him try to put it back together. It just so happens to belong to a creature from the beginning of time lurking in the shadows of his ship.”
In addition to Sandler in the lead role, this star-studded project will also star Paul Dano (Dumb Money), Carey Mulligan (Maestro), Kunal Nayyar (The Big Bang Theory), Lean Olin (Chocolat), and Isabella Rossellini (Blue Velvet). Johan Renck directed the film, while Colby Day wrote the screenplay.
Spaceman will have its world premiere at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival in February, before being released on Netflix on March 1, 2024.
