Adele is reportedly set to follow the example of music stars like Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, and Celine Dion and launch her own Las Vegas residency. According to The Mail, Adele already started prepping for the move and is in the process of recruiting musicians for her band.

The media outlet cites a source close to the singer who said that the lucrative gig would enable Adele to perform on a regular basis while keeping her residency in Los Angeles. She would commute to Las Vegas for the shows, needing only 40 minutes to get there from L.A. with her private jet.

Details about Adele’s residency in “Sin City” are still kept under wraps. If negotiations turn out to be successful, the first leg of the shows is expected to occur when the international coronavirus restrictions are removed or at least eased. Some sources indicate that the target date is the first part of 2022.

Despite being one of the biggest stars in music, Adele hasn’t been actively performing live in recent years. The “Hello” singer’s most recent show was in June 2017, when she performed in front of the sold-out audience at Wembley Stadium. She was set to perform two more concerts in the same venue but was forced to cancel them due to vocal injuries.

Adele hasn’t put out any new music since her Grammy Award-winning studio effort 25 in 2015. The rumors about her new album have been surfacing for years, but the project hasn’t officially been confirmed.
