Adria Arjona is landed a role she can really sink her teeth into.

Arjona, who’s known for her roles on Pacific Rim and Emerald City is in early talks to star as the female lead opposite Jared Leto in Morbius.

The Spider-Man Universe spinoff is based on Marvel Comics’ antihero Morbius the Living Vampire. Dr. Michael Morbius first debuted in the 1970s The Amazing Spider-Man #101 issue. The renowned biochemist was created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Gil Kane.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Pacific Rim star would play Martine Bancroft, who in the comics was engaged to Dr. Michael Morbius a scientist who suffered from a rare blood disease and turned himself into a living vampire while seeking a cure.

Daniel Espinosa is directing from a script penned by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama, the duo behind Netflix’s Lost in Space remake. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are set to produce with Lucas Foster.

Sony had no comment on the casting.
