Disney+ is working on an Aladdin spinoff but with a very surprising focus.

The forthcoming spin-off will center on a character, which did not appear in the original animated classic and was created for the 2019 live-action film, Billy Magnussen’s Prince Anders.

In case you’re one of the only people who hasn’t watch the billion-dollar live-action remake — Magnussen played Prince Anders who vied for Princess Jasmine’s (Naomi Scott) hand in marriage.

Disney+ has hired Jordan Dunn and Michael Kvamme to pen a script for the offshoot film. Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich, who produced Aladdin, are back in the same capacity via their banner Rideback, Rideback’s Ryan Halprin will executive produce.

The news was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
