Canadian artists were majorly snubbed at this year’s Grammys, but they’ll finally get their chance to shine at the upcoming Juno Awards. The list of nominees for this prestigious honor has been unveiled, and Alessia Cara will be in charge of hosting the ceremony.

The “Scars to Your Beautiful” singer, who has two Juno Awards under her belt, admitted she was surprised by the offer to host the ceremony, but eventually accepted this exciting opportunity.

“For those of you who are hoping it was someone else like Shawn Mendes, I’m sorry, it is me. You’re stuck with me… I’m so excited to be a part of Canada’s biggest night in music in this way. This is the first time I’ve been the sole host of anything, so I hope I don’t disappoint,” said Cara in a statement.

The Juno Awards will take place on March 15th in the city of Saskatoon, for the first time since 2007. Cara will be in the running for the artist of the year award, alongside fellow Canadians Bryan Adams, Tory Lanez, Shawn Mendes, and Jessie Reyez.
