The second season of Reacher is yet to premiere on Amazon Prime Video, but the streamer is certain it will be a success. The action crime series based on Lee Child’s beloved Jack Reacher book series just received an early Season 3 renewal.

According to Prime Video’s official synopsis, this series sees the titular hero being pulled from his vagabond life by a coded message informing him that a member of his elite group of army special investigators has been murdered.

Reacher decides to join forces with some of his former military cohorts to investigate this murder mystery. Once they start digging deeper, they end up stumbling upon an elaborate conspiracy that’s much bigger than they ever could have imagined.

Alan Ritchson stars as Jack Reacher in this series, following in the footsteps of Tom Cruise who played the iconic character in two feature films. The supporting cast includes Malcolm Goodwin, Willa Fitzgerald, Chris Webster, Bruce McGill, Maria Sten, and Hugh Thompson.

Reacher was developed for Amazon by Nick Santora, who serves as its showrunner and one of the executive producers. The second season will feature a total of eight episodes, airing weekly following the three-episode premiere on December 15.
