Amazon Orders “Jack Reacher” Series

Tom Cruise and Jai Courtney in "Jack Reacher" (2012)

There’s another “Jack” coming to Amazon.

One of the streaming service’s flagship shows is Jack Ryan which stars John Krasinski as a CIA analyst who is forced to venture into the field. The action-packed drama will now be joined by another show based on a fictional character named Jack who kicks bad guys’ butts.

Amazon has officially given a green light to a series adaptation of Jack Reacher which starred Tom Cruise in the titular role in films that came out in 2012 and 2016.

Lee Child, who authored the Jack Reacher books will act as an executive producer, while Scorpion creator, Nick Santora, will serve as showrunner. The first season will be based on the first novel in the series entitled The Killing Floor.

“Lee Child has created an incredible character and world; it will be the goal of every writer, producer, actor, executive and crew member to capture the essence of Mr. Child’s books — and luckily Lee has been there, and will continue to be there, to help guide us along the way in this series. He is the pulse of Reacher,” said Santora.

It is highly unlikely that Cruise will reprise his role for the series.
