Epic fantasy dramas are taking Amazon Prime by storm right now and this streaming giant is betting on The Wheel of Time big time. The second chapter of this hit show is underway and Amazon has already renewed it for another season.

Based on Robert Jordan’s novel series of the same name, The Wheel of Time is set in the fantasy world where magic exists, but only women can use it. The series centers on Moiraine, a member of the powerful organization Aes Sedai, who embarks on an epic journey with five young men and women in an attempt to find the Dragon Reborn.

Showrunner Rafe Judkins said that he’s thrilled that the third season of The Wheel of Time is on the way, especially since it focuses on his favorite book in the series, The Shadow Rising.

“Being able to bring it to television and introduce new audiences to the stories that made me fall in love with these books in the first place is such an honor and something I’ve been working toward since I first pitched the show years and years ago,” said Judkins in a statement.

The second season is expected to premiere later this year, but it still doesn’t have a release date. The Wheel of Time cast is led by Rosamund Pike, and it also includes Daniel Henney, Zoë Robins, Madeleine Madden, Josha Stradowski, and Marcus Rutherford.
