The list of Mary J. Blige’s achievements is pretty much endless, and she’s currently plotting a project most artists can only dream about – a documentary about her life and successful career spanning almost three decades.

Oscar-winning filmmaker Vanessa Roth is developing this project for Amazon Studios, and it will see the R&B icon reflecting on her emotional journey just in time for the 25th anniversary of her seminal album My Life, which came out on November 29th, 1994.

Matt Newman, co-head of movies at Amazon Studios said they are thrilled to share this inside look into Blige’s life with millions of her fans.

“We all know Mary J. Blige as the two-time Oscar nominee, Grammy Award-winning, multi-hyphenate who has sold over 80 million records. But through this documentary, audiences will see a raw and honest side of Mary J. Blige opening up about her personal journey of redemption and healing,” stated Newman.

The Mary J. Blige documentary still doesn’t have an official title or release date, but it will be available exclusively through Amazon Prime once it comes out.
