AMC’s The Walking Dead universe is constantly expanding and the network is betting big bucks on this growing franchise. They recently announced the renewal of two shows in this franchise—the newly launched The Walking Dead: Dead City and the upcoming spinoff The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.

Walking Dead: Dead City centers on Lauren Cohan’s Maggie and Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan, as they travel into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, which descended into anarchy and terror. The six-episode series premiered back in June, while The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is yet to see the light of day and it will center on Norman Reedus’s titular hero from the original series.

Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks announced the renewal of both shows and said they’re the reason why this next chapter in the Walking Dead Universe continues to thrive.

“We can’t wait to bring Dead City fans back to the epicenter of Manhattan for more zip-lining action with Maggie and Negan. And, ahead of its debut, we’re thrilled to double down on Daryl as we bring the apocalypse to France,” said McDermott in a statement.

The Walking Dead ended its run last year after 11 seasons, and it already produced spinoffs Fear the Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, and Tales of the Walking Dead.
