“American Horror Story” Season 9 Title Revealed

Ryan Murphy is throwing it back to 1984. 

Murphy dropped the name of the next installment of his horror franchise — American Horror Story: 1984. If the title reveal wasn’t enough for AHS fans, the post also featured a short video of a teenage girl fleeing a big man with an even bigger knife chasing her in true ‘80s slasher films fashion.

1984 was the year some major horror classics hit the big screen, including A Nightmare on Elm Street, Children of the Corn and Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter.

Confirmed to return to the forthcoming season are Emma Roberts and Olympian Gus Kenworthy, who will play an on-screen couple. Evan Peters recently announced that his won’t be back for season 9. Sarah Paulson has yet to give an details about her involvement. 

American Horror Story returns in the this fall.
