Netflix’s American Vandal creators Tony Yacenda and Dan Perrault have returned with a new mockumentary series.

Players is set to tackle the world of E-sports, following a fictional pro-League of Legends team who pursue a championship after years of heartache.

Just like American Scandal, Players will be filmed in documentary style, following a fictional pro League of Legends team or LoL, looking to win its first championship after years of close calls and disappointment. According to Entertainment Weekly, the team’s 17-year-old rookie prodigy and 27-year-old veteran gamer will have to put aside their egos in order to work together if they have any hope of winning it all.

Players has scored a series order at Paramount+. CBS Studios and Funny or Die, which teamed on American Vandal, will also produce Players. League of Legends maker Riot Games is also involved in the project. Yacenda and Perrault will serve as executive producers on the series along with Joe Farrell and Mike Farah of Funny or Die.
