Amy Adams Embraces the Power of the Dog in Trailer for Her Next Film

We’ve seen Amy Adams play a wide range of compelling characters over the years, but she’s getting ready to enter uncharted territory with her next project. The first trailer for her new horror comedy is here, and it sees the six-time Oscar nominee embracing the power of the dog.

Nightb—- is inspired by Rachel Yoder’s hit novel of the same name, and its official logline promises one wild, surreal ride:

“A woman, thrown into the stay-at-home routine of raising a toddler in the suburbs, slowly embraces the feral power deeply rooted in motherhood, as she becomes increasingly aware of the bizarre and undeniable signs that she may be turning into a dog.”

The film’s first trailer sees Adams struggling to find her footing as a new mom before her maternal instincts starts to manifest in canine form. Nightbi—h will also star Scoot MacNairy, Mary Holland, Jessica Harper, Zoë Chao, Ella Thomas, Stacey Swift, Archana Rajan, Adrienne Rose White, Darius De La Cruiz, and Roslyn Gentle.

Directed and written by Marielle Heller, the movie was originally set to be released on Hulu, before Searchlight Pictures agreed to give it a theatrical release date on December 6. Its world premiere is set for September y at the Toronto International Film Festival.
