Amy Adams has a new series on the way, and it will see her joining forces with an old friend. Kings of America will focus on three women linked with the retail giant Walmart, and it will be executive produced by Adam McKay.

Adams and McKay first worked together back in 2006, when she starred in his sports comedy Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. The Dick Cheney biopic Vice brought them back together in 2018, and they both scored Oscar nominations for their work on this movie.

Their limited series Kings of America is set to premiere on Netflix, and McKay will be in charge of directing the first episode. Jess Kimball Leslie created the series, with Diana Son set to serve as showrunner.

Kings of America will center on three powerful women, whose lives are intertwined due to their connection to the Walmart Corporation. One of them is a rich heiress, the other is the company’s top executive, while the third is Walmart saleswoman and preacher trying to file a historic class-action suit against the retail giant.
