Amy Schumer’s latest comedy special Emergency Contact premiered on Netflix earlier this year, and she’s gearing up for another collaboration with the streamer. She landed the lead role in the upcoming comedy Kinda Pregnant, and she’ll also serve as one of its producers.

Schumer will play Lainy, a middle-aged woman who gets so jealous of her best friend’s pregnancy that she starts wearing a fake baby bump. Her unhinged lie comes back to haunt her after she accidentally meets the man of her dreams in the middle of all this chaos.

This project hails from Netflix and Adam Sandler’s production company Happy Madison. Schumer and Sandler are both coming on board as producers, along with Tim Herlihy, Judit Maull, Kevin Grady, and Eli Thomas for Happy Madison, and Molly Sims for Something Happy Productions.

Tyler Spindel, who helmed Happy Madison’s action comedy The Out-Laws is coming on board as a director, while Julie Paiva wrote the script. Barry Bernardi, Michael D Robins, and Kevin Kane will be credited as executive producers.

Schumer is currently leading Hulu’s comedy series Life & Beth, which received Season 2 renewal shortly after premiering on this streaming platform last year. She’s also attached to Jerry Seinfeld’s upcoming film Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story.
