The news about the marriage of comedian Amy Schumer and chef Chris Fischer in February caught everyone off guard since there were few who knew that the two were even dating. Now Schumer decided to reveal some details about the romance and how she met her husband.

Talking with Howard Stern, the 36-year-old Trainwreck star said that Chris is, in fact, her assistant’s brother. Amy was once in need of a chef, so her assistant recommended Chris.

After seeing each other few more times, the two hit it off and decided they might give it a go. But, before that, they had to ask the Chris’ sister would she be ok with it.

“I’m sure she just didn’t want to get fired,” Schumer jokingly said about her assistant’s blessing.

Amy Schumer also shared an interesting story about how she got proposed. Amy revealed that she was sleeping in bed, wearing earplugs and a night mask, when Chris woke her up from sleep and asked the “big question.” He then asked does he have to go on one knee to respect the tradition, but the ring was enough to Amy to say yes.

Amy Schumer and Chris Fischer got married on a private ceremony in Malibu on February 15th. The two were dating since November 2017, and have gone public with their relationship just a few days before the wedding.

“It feelings f–king good!” said Schumer to Nikki Glaser about the fact that she is a married woman. “I’m a wife as hell. But it’s still like, a novelty. Somebody went to sit next to [Chris] and he’s like, ‘My wife is sitting here,’ and then I got back and he was excited to tell me that he said that. I just have been really overusing it to a degree that’s insane. Like, when it’s completely uncalled for.”
