Amy Schumer is sending her 12-year-old self a message.

The actress’s new movie, I Feel Pretty, features her playing a woman who suddenly has self-confidence after a freak accident during a Soul Cycle class leads her to believe she looks like a supermodel.

The film’s trailer led to controversy as it was perceived by some to be body shaming. But the comedienne has now stopped all such talk.

“I hope this movie reaches everyone, but I personally made this for my 12-year-old self and I hope you guys could heal your 12-year-old selves tonight,” Amy said at film’s premiere at the Westwood Village Theatre in Los Angeles.

And on the topic of beauty, the 36-year-old told The Hollywood Reporter that she feels prettiest “When I’m in sweatpants with family and friends and no makeup and I’m not even thinking about what I look like.”

You’re as pretty as you’ve ever been, Amy.
