There’s been speculation for a while over whether a Spice Girls movie really is in the works and now, the girl group’s manager has confirmed that there really is. And it’s going to be animated.
Manager Simon Fuller spoke to Billboard about the pop sensations and revealed that there is plenty more to come. This year, Spice Girls are reuniting for a UK tour and the tickets sold out quickly due to the enormously high demand. Fuller, however, was not surprised by the comeback tour’s success.
“To be honest with you, while it was clearly phenomenal, they are such an awesome phenomenon I expected it,” he said. “The last tour we did seven or eight years ago the demand was equal, if not maybe even more. It’s a global phenomenon. They’re more timely now than ever and it’s fantastic. I’m so happy for the girls. They deserve it.”
He then added: “What’s coming next is that we are going to be doing lots of exciting things. We’ll be making an animated movie and there’s lots of exciting plans to come.”
So there’s another Spice Girls related event to look forward to in the near future.
