Break-ups, divorces, and splits are continuing to plague the celebrity world. Now journalist and CNN anchor Anderson Cooper revealed that he and his longtime boyfriend Benjamin Maisani have parted ways.
“Benjamin and I separated as boyfriends some time ago,” said Cooper in a statement. “We are still family to each other, and love each other very much. We remain the best of friends, and will continue to share much of our lives together.”
According to Daily Mail, Cooper and Maisani still live together despite the split. The sources say that Anderson Cooper didn’t waste time being single, and has been romantically linked with a 33-year-old doctor from Dallas named Victor Lopez.
Although Cooper didn’t get into the details about the split, he gave hints earlier that Maisani may not be too happy about his frequent travels and heavy work schedule.
“I’m off about one weekend a month. During the week I’m on CNN, and also work for 60 Minutes — most of the weekends are traveling for CNN or 60 minutes,” said Cooper, while talking with People in late 2017. “I think he’s annoyed that I travel so much but he also knows how much I like it. He’s kind of used to it. He’s never asked me not to go somewhere. He’s pretty understanding that the job requires travel, and he’s cool with that.”
Anderson Cooper and Benjamin Maisani started dating in 2009 but kept their relationship under wraps until 2015.
