After leading Hallmark Channel’s series Cedar Cove, Andie MacDowell is ready to join forces with this network once again. She’s set to play one of the key roles in Hallmark’s brand-new original primetime series The Way Home.

According to the network’s official announcement, MacDowell is set to play Del Landry, the matriarch of the Landry family and a pillar of the close-knit community of her small, Canadian farm town. A tragic event forever changed her family and forced her daughter Kat to move away.

After years of being estranged, Kat decides to move back to her hometown with her teenage daughter. As the series proceeds, the three generations of women will “embark on an enlightening journey to find their way back to each other and learn important lessons about their family’s past.”

The Way Home will premiere on Hallmark in 2023, and it’s the first new series to get a pickup at Hallmark since 2016. Lisa Hamilton Daly, the executive VP of programming for Crown Media Family Networks described MacDowell as “a perfect Del Landry”, adding they can’t wait to see her bring this character to life.

MacDowell is attached to several more projects right now, including movies The Other Zoe, Red Right Hand, and My Happy Ending.
