After starring in Under the Banner of Heaven by each other’s side, Andrew Garfield and Daisy Edgar-Jones are gearing up for another collaboration. The duo landed lead roles in Sebastian Lelio’s next film Voyagers about Carl Sagan and Ann Druyan.

Voyagers will kick off in 1977 when NASA’s team led by Sagan embarked on a quest to create the Voyager Golden Record, the records of sounds and images meant to portray the diversity of life and culture on Earth.

Sagan and Druyan worked together on this project and later went on to film a television series Cosmos: A Personal Voyage by each other’s side, before getting married in 1981.

Lelio will direct the film from a screenplay he wrote alongside Jessica Goldberg, drawing inspiration from interviews with Druyan and many others who worked on the Golden Record project. The film will hit global sales at the Cannes Market this month, with Druyan serving as a producer alongside Ben Browning and Lynda Obst.

This won’t mark the first collaboration between Garfield and Edgar-Jones. The duo received acclaim for their roles in Hulu’s Under the Banner of Heaven, and Garfield even scored his first Emmy nods for his performance in this mini-series.
