Andy Serkis will receive the IBC2019 International Honor for Excellence. The actor is best known for his performance capture roles mainly Gollum from Lord of the Rings. He also portrayed Ceaser in Planet of the Apes and Supreme Leader Snoke in Star Wars.
Serkis is also a director and producer, and through his Imaginarium Studios in London made Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle. Serkis also portrayed Baloo in the movie alongside Christian Bale’s Bagheera.
Michael Crimp, CEO of IBC said in his announcement of Serkis’s winning that “IBC is where the technology, the craft and the business of the media industry come together. The International Honor for Excellence has a long history of rewarding those who have transformed our creative vision. Andy Serkis has achieved this by bringing extraordinary humanity to computer-generated characters.”
