Angelina Jolie is one of the biggest stars of her generation, but it seems her days in Hollywood are numbered. The Oscar-winning actress recently said she’d like to leave Hollywood because it’s not “a healthy place” and she “wouldn’t be an actress today”.

Jolie recently set down for an in-depth interview with Wall Street Journal Magazine and shared her honest thoughts about the state of modern-day Hollywood.

“I wouldn’t be an actress today. When I was starting out, it wasn’t as much of an expectation to be as public, to share so much. Because I grew up around Hollywood, I was never very impressed with it. I never bought into it as significant or important,” said Jolie.

She added that she’s now seeking authenticity because Hollywood is not “a healthy place” and she became even more aware of it in the aftermath of her divorce from Brad Pitt. Jolie added that she’ll eventually move because she wants to live and travel freely, but that doesn’t necessarily mean she’s thinking about retirement.

Jolie will soon star in Pablo Larraín’s Maria Callas biopic, and she’s attached to several more projects, including the action thriller Maude v Maude co-starring Halle Barry and the third film in the Maleficent franchise.
