Anne Hathaway confirms that a Princess Diaries 3 is in the works.
It has been 18 yeas since we first met Anne Hathaway as Princess Mia in the wonderful movie adaptation of Princess Diaries. Since the sequel in 2004 though, what happens to Princess Mia has been very much left to our imaginations. Unless of course, you’ve read the books.
During her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, one eager caller phoned in to ask Anne Hathaway whether Princess Diary 3 would be going ahead. She had heard that a script had been written and wanted confirmation on whether the movie would be coming our way any time soon.
“There is a script for the third movie,” Hathaway confirmed. “I wanna do it, Julie [Andrews] wants to do it, Debra Martin Chase, our producer, wants to do it.
“We all really want it to happen, it’s just we don’t want to do it unless it’s perfect because we love it just as much as you guys love it. It’s as important to us as it is to you, and we don’t want to deliver anything until it’s ready. But we’re working on it.”
Hopefully, we will hear more about the sequel soon.
