Anne Hathaway’s next role has been revealed.
The Hustle actress will star in The Idea of You, an adaptation of Robinne Lee’s novel of the same name.
The story follows 40-year-old Sophie whose husband, Dan, left her for a younger woman. The couple also share a 15-year-old daughter, and when the unreliable ex cancels his plans to accompany his daughter to Coachella, Sophie decides to go instead! There, she meets Hayes Campbell who is the lead singer of the hottest boy band on the planet, August Moon — and 16 years her junior.
As with the Fifty Shades series, The Idea of You is fan fiction, with many readers believing that Harry Styles inspired the alluring rockstar.
“This was never supposed to be a book about Harry Styles,” Lee stated in an interview with Vogue in December 2020. “It was supposed to be a story about a woman approaching 40 and reclaiming her sexuality and rediscovering herself, just at the point that society traditionally writes women off as desirable and viable and whole.“
The role of Hayes has yet to be filled, but imagine it went to the “As It Was” singer himself!
