Sonny’s new adaptation of Uncharted sees its cast and crew forming with Ruben Fischer (Venom) chosen to direct and the Oscar-nominated Antonio Banders cast alongside Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg. Fischer was reportedly the top choice for the role last month. Variety reports that Sophia Ali and Tati Gabrielle (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) are also to join the cast. It is still unclear which parts they, or Banderas, will play.

The movie follows a treasure hunter named Nathan Drake, his journeys around the world, and the mysteries he encounters. It is produced by Charles Roven and Alex Gartner for Atlas Entertainment and Avi and Ari Arad for Arad Production. Playstation Productions’ Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan will serve as executive producers. The most recent script of the movie was penned by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway.

Fisher is the sixth director attached to the movie, which the studio has been working on since 2008. Travis Knight left the project two months ago and over the years, David O. Russell, Neil Burger, Seth Gordon, and Shawn Levy were all attached to the project.

Uncharted is set to be released on March 5th, 2021.
