Apple TV+ is home to the world’s largest library of Peanuts cartoons, and they’re getting ready to expand this universe even further. The streaming giant announced they’re plotting their very first Peanuts feature film, set to kick off production in 2024.

Apple’s new film is being developed in the collaboration between WildBrain and Peanuts Worldwide. It hails from the same team that brought us The Peanuts Movie in 2015—the director Steve Martino and co-writers Craig Schulz, Bryan Schulz, and Cornelius Uliano, who wrote the story for the new film alongside the screenwriter Karey Kirkpatrick.

Craig Schulz is the son of the original Peanuts creator, Charles M. Schulz, and he’s looking forward to joining forces with this team to bring audiences a brand-new Peanuts adventure.

“It is so special to carry on my father’s legacy with an original story from me, my son Bryan, and his writing partner Neil… Peanuts fans have been clamoring for another feature for years, and this film will bring joy to our millions of fans around the world,” said Schulz in a statement.

The upcoming Peanuts film will see our favorite characters embark on an epic adventure to the Big City, where they’ll learn important lessons about the true meaning of friendship while meeting some surprising new friends along the way.
