With Jason Segel and Harrison Ford in the lead roles, Shrinking was always going to be a hit, and Apple TV+ is betting big on its success. As the first season of this series nears its final stage, the streaming giant announced they’ll be bringing it back for Season 2.

Shrinking stars Jason Segel as Jimmy Laird, a grieving therapist struggling to move forward with his life after the death of his wife. Overcome with grief, he decides to breach ethical barriers and tell his patients what he really thinks, changing the course of theirs and his own life.

Matt Cherniss, head of programming at Apple TV+, confirmed the show’s renewal and said they can’t wait for viewers to experience what the cast and creative team have in store for the show’s second season.

“We have loved the engaging, touching, and hilarious world of Shrinking since the beginning, and it has been wonderful to watch as audiences around the world continue to connect with these big-hearted characters,” said Cherniss in a statement.

In addition to Segel and Ford, Shrinking also stars Jessica Williams, Christa Miller, Lukita Maxwell, Michael Urie, Luke Tennie, Heidi Gardner, and Ted McGinley. Segel co-created the series alongside Ted Lasso’s Brett Goldstein and Bill Lawrence.
