Apple TV+ gave us one of the most refreshing new shows of 2022 with The Afterparty, and there’s more where it came from. This murder mystery comedy has been renewed for its second season, with Tiffany Haddish set to return in the lead role.
The Afterparty was created by Christopher Miller, best known for his work on the 21 Jump Street franchise, The Lego Movie, and The Last Man on Earth with his creative partner Phil Lord. The series follows a detective searching for a killer at a high school reunion afterparty, with each episode recounting the events from a different character’s perspective.
Haddish plays the detective in charge of solving this millennial whodunnit mystery. The ensemble cast of The Afterparty also includes Sam Richardson, Zoë Chao, Ben Schwartz, Ike Barinholtz, Ilana Glazer, Jamie Demetriou, and Dave Franco.
The series renewal comes shortly ahead of the Season 1 finale, set to air on Friday. Not much is known about the show’s sophomore run, apart from the fact that Haddish will reprise her role, while the return of the rest of the cast is yet to be confirmed.
