David S. Goyer has given us one of Apple’s most ambitious sci-fi shows with Foundation, and there’s more where that came from! The adaptation of Isaac Asimov’s iconic book series has officially been renewed for its third season.
Foundation centers on a band of exiles who discover that the only way to save the Galactic Empire from destruction is to destroy it from within. The show’s ensemble cast includes Jared Harris, Lee Pace, Lou Llobell, Leah Harvey, Laura Birn, Terrence Mann, and Cassian Bilton.
Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+, said it’s been beyond exciting to watch Foundation become such a global hit. He added they can’t wait for everyone to experience what is in store for characters, both old and new, in Season 3.
“We have all been incredibly impressed with the ambitious, action-packed, and imaginative adaptation that David and the rest of this gifted creative team and cast have brought to life with this premium sci-fi series from day one,” said Cherniss in a statement.
Goyer stated he’s thrilled to get the opportunity to continue chronicling Asimov’s pioneering galactic saga, and promised that the stakes will be even higher when Foundation returns for its next chapter.
