The sci-fi thriller series Silo made quite a splash since premiering on Apple TV+, and its future is looking bright. After attracting strong viewership numbers and debuting as the No. 1 drama since the launch of this streaming service, Apple TV+ renewed Silo for its second season.

Silo is based on Hugh Howey’s trilogy of novels and it takes place in a dystopian future, where 10,000 people live inside a giant silo, which protects them from the toxic and deadly world outside.

Rebecca Ferguson leads the series in the role of Juliette Nichols, an engineer who uncovers a shocking conspiracy while seeking answers about a loved one’s murder. The supporting cast includes Common, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, David Oyelowo, Rashida Jones, and Tim Robbins.

Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+, officially announced the show’s renewal and said it’s been enormously fulfilling to see this engrossing, atmospheric, and beautifully crafted sci-fi epic find such a huge success.

“As audiences around the world have become gripped by the mysteries and conspiracies buried within this fascinating subterranean world, viewership only continues to climb, and we are so excited for more secrets of the silo to be revealed in season two,” Cherniss said in a statement.
