Ariana DeBose booked several promising projects since winning her Oscar for West Side Story and she just scored a role in another one. She’s set to play the lead in the culinary thriller House of Spoils, being developed by Prime Video and Blumhouse.

This intriguing project hails from Bridget Savage Cole and Danielle Krudy, the directing duo behind the acclaimed crime drama Blow the Man Down. It centers on an ambitious chef who opens her first restaurant, only to find herself contending the powerful spirit of its previous owner trying to sabotage her at every turn.

Julie Rapaport, head of movies at Amazon Studios, said they’ve been huge fans of Cole and Krudy ever since Blow the Man Down came out and couldn’t wait to join forces with this creative duo.

“[We] knew we needed to be a part of whatever they wanted to do next… Pairing their thrilling script with Ariana’s incredible talent is a dream come true, and we could not be more excited to bring this story to the screen and to our customers around the world,” said Rapaport in a statement.

Following her Oscar win for West Side Story, DeBose appeared on the fourth season of Westworld, in addition to being attached to films Argylle, Stealing Jokes, and Kraven the Hunter.
