Ariana Grande gave us a couple of her most epic music videos this year but the video for her new single “Monopoly” is unlike anything we’ve seen before. The “7 rings” singer joined forces with her best friend Victoria Monet to deliver one of her quirkiest videos to date.

This offbeat clip is pretty simple and it seems more like an Instagram live than an actual music video of an acclaimed artist. It shows the two BFFs dancing around and shunning negative thoughts, showing up on the screen in the form of emojis and memes.

“Monopoly” already went viral and caused quite a stir with its cryptic lyrics, which left fans questioning Grande’s sexual orientation.

This is the first song she released after announcing she’ll be dropping her new music whenever she feels like it. Grande no longer wants to play by the rules, and said she opted for this approach because it feels more authentic and rewarding. Working on new songs with her friends in the last few months made her fall in love with music all over again, and she wants to keep doing the same in the future.
