Ariana Grande made quite a splash with her new surprise album Positions and started the hype by releasing the lead single of the same name. This song created quite a buzz for her latest studio effort and easily debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100, setting several records in its wake.

“Positions” is Grande’s third no. 1 single of the year, after her Justin Bieber collaboration “Stuck with U” and Lady Gaga collab “Rain on Me”. This makes her the artist with the most no. 1 debut songs in a single calendar year—and that’s just the start.

With “Positions”, Grande also became the first artist to have five no. 1 debut singles on the Billboard Hot 100. She previously accomplished this feat with “Thank U, Next” and “7 Rings”.

In addition to topping the Billboard Hot 100 this week, “Positions” also debuted atop the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts. This is the first song to simultaneously debut atop both of these charts, and Grande is also the first U.S.-born artist to lead the latter chart.
