You probably know by now that we are getting another Terminator movie in 2019, but this time with the original cast. The new Terminator movie will be the first one since Terminator 2: Judgment Day that will have the franchise creator James Cameron involved, although not as a director. The movie will be directed by Deadpool’s Tim Miller while Cameron will take the role of a producer. Speaking with Business Inside, Arnold Schwarzenegger said that the idea of the movie is to get back to the basic characters and to dismiss everything that happened after Terminator 2.

“I think James Cameron and Tim Miller came up with a concept where they can continue on with the T-800 but make a whole new movie,” said Schwarzenegger. “What they are doing now with this one is basically to just take a few very basic characters, like Linda Hamilton’s character and my character, and dismiss everything else. Just move away from all these rules of the timeline and other characters.”

This means that the movie will not be connected the likes of Rise Of The Machines and Terminator Genisys. Although the details of the movie have not been revealed, Schwarzenegger still offered some insight into his character.

“I think the T-800 model is a really interesting character. He’s a machine, can be destructive, can do things human beings can’t do, but at the same time when newer technology comes along the character is suddenly vulnerable and that makes him even more interesting.”

According to the reports, the filming of the movie will start in March 2018 while the expected release date is July 2019. If the new Terminator movie turns out to be a success, there are plans for a trilogy.
