With so many theaters around the world shut down, major studios are coming up with new ways to share their projects with the masses. Disney is a case in point, and they’ll break new ground with their big-budget adaptation of hit novel Artemis Fowl.

This fantasy film follows the adventures of a titular young criminal prodigy who’s trying to solve the mystery of his father’s disappearance. This highly-anticipated adaptation of Eoin Colfer’s novel was supposed to premiere on May 29th, but it will head to the recently-launched streaming service Disney+ instead.

Ricky Strauss, president of content and marketing for Disney+, said the streamer is thrilled to give this film its Disney+ premiere as the audience is largely unable to attend theatres in the current environment.

“Director Kenneth Branagh and his spectacular cast take viewers right into the vibrant, fantasy world of the beloved book, which fans have been waiting to see brought to life onscreen for years. It’s great family entertainment that is the perfect addition to Disney+’s summer lineup,” said Strauss in a statement.
