Ashley Tisdale is readying for her second act.

The High School Musical star will be heading to television this fall thanks to a re-cast.

She will be filling the role of Patricia Heaton’s daughter in the new CBS sitcom, Carol’s Second Act.

The Everybody Loves Raymond actress will be starring as Carol Chambers who has decided to have a second go at life after raising her two children and retiring from teaching. Her new plan is to be a doctor!

The role of Carol’s daughter was originally played by Bonnie Denison in the pilot. Her appearance at the end means that minimal re-shoots will be required for Tisdale to take over the role of the pharmaceutical rep who has been described as bubbly, care-free, and supportive of her mom.

But don’t worry, the 33-year-old will continue to act as a series regular on Merry Happy Whatever on Netflix.
