Aubrey Plaza will be starring in and producing Emily The Criminal.
Written and directed by John Patton Ford, the film follows Emily (Plaza) who’s fallen down on luck and has tons of debt. She gets involved in a credit card scam that brings her into Los Angeles’ criminal underworld and it ends in deadly consequences.
Gina Gershon and Megalyn Echikunwoke have also been cast in the movie.
Also producing with Plaza are Tyler Davidson and Drew Sykes. Dexter Braff, Kevin Flanigan, Angus Wall, Kent Kubena, Lowell Shapiro, and Mike Dill are executive producing.
Plaza is known for her roles in Legion and Parks & Recreation. She was recently in and produced Black Bear and Ingrid Goes West and she starred in Happiest Season. Her next films are Guy Ritchie’s Untitled Thriller opposite Jason Statham and Best Sellers opposite Michael Caine. She also signed onto star as the leas in Olga Dies Dreaming which she will also produce.
