The Bikeriders made quite a splash after opening this year’s Telluride Film Festival and 20th Century Studios just gave us a glimpse of this acclaimed drama. The first trailer for Jeff Nichols’ next film is here, and it sees Jodie Comer and Austin Butler embarking on one wild ride.

The Bikeriders is based on Danny Lyon’s photo book of the same name, and it was directed and written for the big screen by Jeff Nichols, the acclaimed filmmaker behind Mud (2012) and Loving (2016). This marks his first film as a director in seven years – and it was certainly worth the wait.

20th Century Studios’s official logline describes The Bikeriders as “a furious drama following the rise of a fictional 1960s Midwestern motorcycle club through the lives of its members.” It’s told from the perspective of Kathy (Jodie Comer), who’s struggling to navigate her husband Benny’s (Austin Butler) untamed nature after he becomes a member of the motorcycle gang the Vandals.

The film’s impressive ensemble cast also includes Tom Hardy, Mike Faist, Norman Reedus, Michael Shannon, Boyd Holbrook, Damon Herriman, Beau Knapp, Emory Cohen, Karl Glusman, Toby Wallace, and Happy Anderson.

The Bikeriders was met with critical acclaim following its world premiere in Telluride, and it will hit the theatres on December 1.
