]]>Now You See Me series follows the adventures of the Four Horsemen, the bickering and sneaky quartet of talent illusionists, who are using their special talent to pull off lucrative heists. Lionsgate is keeping Now You See Me 3 plot details up its sleeve, but the sequel will introduce us to a new generation of magicians.
Character details are also being kept under wraps, but we know who’ll be a part of the new generation. Ariana Greenblatt (Barbie), Justice Smith (Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves), and Dominic Sessa (The Holdovers) have been added to the cast of this project.
Now You See Me 3 will also mark the return of the star-studded cast of the first two films, led by Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, Mark Ruffalo, and Morgan Freeman. The script went through several revisions over the years, but the latest version hails from Eric Warren Singer, Seth Graham Smith, and Mike Lesslie, while Ruben Fleischer has been tapped to direct.

]]>Grey’s Anatomy will celebrate its 20th anniversary next year, and ABC is marking the occasion in style! They renewed the show for another season, and its creator Shonda Rhimes thanked the fans who supported it through the years, saying their loyalty and love have propelled this series into a historic 21st season.
Meg Marinis also deserves the credit for keeping Grey’s Anatomy alive and kicking after taking over as showrunner from Krista Vernoff in Season 20. She had to face many obstacles, from cutting the episode count to ten after the Hollywood strikes to reinviting the show as an ensemble series after the former lead Ellen Pompeo significantly reduced her involvement.
Even before the show was renewed for Season 21, Marinis made it clear she was here to stay for as long as ABC wanted her to.
“I’ve not been informed that this is the last season so I’m going to keep going and telling stories as long as they let me. We still have stories to tell. We receive a tremendous amount of support from the studio and the network and from Shondaland,” she told Deadline ahead of the Season 20 premiere.

]]>Roberts will play “a college professor, who finds herself at a personal and professional crossroads when a star pupil levels an accusation against one of her colleagues and a dark secret from her own past threatens to come to light,” according to the film’s official logline.
Nora Garrett wrote the script for this project, while Allan Mandelbaum brought it to Imagine Entrainment and played a crucial role in getting it to Guadagnino and Roberts. He’s producing the project alongside Guadagnino and Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer.
Amazon MGM Studios landed the hot package after collaborating with Guadagnino on Challengers. The sports drama, set in the world of tennis, stars Zendaya, Josh O’Connor, and Mike Faist, and it’s hitting the theaters on April 16.
As for Roberts, she most recently starred alongside Mahershala Ali and Ethan Hawke in Netflix’s hit thriller Leave the World Behind. This film reunited her with Sam Esmail, who previously worked with Roberts on the Amazon Prime Video series Homecoming, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination.

]]>The post “The Bear” Season 4 to Shoot Back-to-Back With Season 3 appeared first on EverydayKoala.
]]>Speculation about the potential ending of The Bear began swirling after local Chicago outlets dropped hints about Christopher Storer’s agreement to film additional episodes. Deadline decided to dig deeper, and they claim that the acclaimed FX series is nowhere near reaching its end.
The official announcement for Season 4 renewal hasn’t been released by FX, but Deadline claims it’s just a formality. Filming is already underway in Chicago, a move strategically designed to accommodate the busy schedules of the show’s Emmy-winning trio Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
There’s also chatter about Season 4 potentially serving as the final chapter of The Bear, drawing parallels to FX’s treatment of Atlanta, which concluded after shooting Seasons 3 and 4 back-to-back. Deadline claims there’s no truth to these rumors, and the door remains open for a potential fifth season.
The third season of The Bear will return to FX this June. Its official release date remains a mystery, but we know that all episodes will be released at once, sticking to the binge-drop model of the first two seasons.

]]>The post “Dune: Part Two” Tops the Box Office With Epic $178.5 Million Worldwide Opening appeared first on EverydayKoala.
]]>Dune: Part Two was initially supposed to hit the theaters last fall, but its release date was delayed to March 1, 2024, in the face of Hollywood strikes. This decision paid off big time, and this film ended up grossing $81.5 million domestically plus $97 million internationally, for a worldwide total of $178.5 million.
Dune: Part Two owes a significant part of its earnings to sold-out IMAX showings, which accounted for 23% of domestic sales or $18.5 million. Rich Gelfond, CEO of IMAX, addressed the film’s huge success in this format and said that this number wasn’t higher only because they ran out of seats.
Dune: Part Two is based on Frank Herbert’s seminal epic sci-fi novel of the same name, and Denis Villeneuve is plotting the adaptation of its sequel Dune Messiah. Timothée Chalamet led the star-studded ensemble cast alongside Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Zendaya, Charlotte Rampling, Javier Bardem, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, and Léa Seydoux.

]]>With the exception of Zendaya (Dune franchise) and Michelle Pfeiffer (Ant-Man), all of the newly announced presenters are former Oscar winners. Yeoh will be joined by last year’s winners Brendan Fraser, Ke Huy Quan Curtis, and Jamie Lee Curtis – and they’ll be in pretty good company!
Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave), Mahershala Ali (Moonlight), Nicolas Cage (Leaving Las Vegas), Jessica Lange (Tootsie), Al Pacino (Scent of a Woman), and Sam Rockwell (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri) will also hit the stage, and they all have at least one Oscar under their belt.
Adding a roster of former Academy Award winners to the lineup isn’t a coincidence, according to The Hollywood Reporter. They report that the upcoming ceremony will return to the “Field of Dreams-like format” from 2009, inviting five former acting winners to introduce the five current nominees in their respective categories.
The 96th Academy Awards will take place on March 10 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, with Jimmy Kimmel hosting the show for the fourth time.

]]>The post “Barbie”, “Oppenheimer”, & “The Bear” Are Nominated for 2024 WGA Awards appeared first on EverydayKoala.
]]>The Writers Guild made several pretty unconventional choices this year, starting with nominating Barbie for the best original screenplay, unlike the Academy Awards. Air, The Holdovers, May December, and Past Lives also received a nod, while the major Oscar contender Anatomy of a Fall has been shut out.
The WGA nominations for the best adapted screenplay also significantly differ from the Oscar contenders in the same field. American Fiction and Oppenheimer are the only films to be nominated at both ceremonies, and they’ll be competing against Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret., Killers of the Flower Moon, and Nyad at the WGA Awards.
When it comes to the TV nominations, Succession and The Bear are leading the way following their recent Emmy sweeps. Succession is the main contender for the best drama series, in addition to receiving two nods for the episodic drama, while The Bear mirrored its success on the comedy side with three nods, including best comedy series.
The Writers Guild will announce the WGA Awards winners on April 14.

]]>Oppenheimer faced tough competition in Barbie, The Holdovers, Poor Things, Killers of the Flower Moon, Maestro, American Fiction, Anatomy of a Fall, Past Lives, and The Zone of Interest on its path to winning best picture, but managed to beat them all. Christopher Nolan also collected an Oscar for his work as the film’s director, his first in this category.

]]>The post 2024 Academy Awards: Zendaya, Michelle Yeoh, & Lupita Nyong’o Among Presenters appeared first on EverydayKoala.
