Sabrina Carpenter has given us the strongest candidate for the song of the summer with “Espresso”, and she has more new music coming our way this season. She announced the release of her sixth studio album Short n’ Sweet, which will hit the shelves in August.
Shortly after billboards featuring tweets referencing her height made the rounds online, Carpenter revealed they weren’t there in vain. She used them to tease her new album Short n’ Sweet ahead of its release on August 23 via Island Records.
This announcement doesn’t come as a shocker, since Carpenter dropped several hints she’s working on new music in recent months. Back in March, she told Cosmopolitan that she feels like she’s outgrown her old songs, adding this means her next chapter is right around the corner.
She also teased the release of her new album with “Espresso”, which became a viral hit since she dropped it back in April, ahead of her Coachella performance. It went on to become her biggest hit to date, making it to the top ten in several countries and hitting No. 1 in the UK and Australia. It also peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming her highest-charting hit in the US.
