The most anticipated movie of 2018 finally got its first trailer. After various teasers in the last couple of days, Marvel Studios gave us the full trailer for Avengers: Infinity War. Check it out below and jump on the hype train if you haven’t already.

Marvel already shared some footage from the movie earlier this year on the D23 Expo and San Diego Comic-Con but hasn’t released any online until now. After you watch the trailer a few more times, let’s see what do we know about Avengers: Infinity War.

The most important thing is that the movie is scheduled for release on May 4, 2018. It is directed by Russo brothers (Anthony and Joseph) who previously worked on Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War as well.

Avengers: Infinity War is set 4 years after the events of the movie Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and features Avengers joining forces with the Guardians of the Galaxy in order to fight against Thanos, who is on a hunt for Infinity Stones which will enable him to “inflict his will on all reality.” The cast from the previous Avengers movies is set to return with some new additions.

Alongside Infinity War, Russo brothers are also directing the sequel that will be filmed back-to-back with the first movie and is scheduled for release on May 3, 2019. The filming of the sequel will wrap up in July 2018. Previously calling the movie: Avengers: Infinity War – Part 2, Marvel decided to remove the title and refer to it as Untitled Avengers film. According to the president of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige, the title of the sequel is being held secret because it reveals some plot details. Feige also said that although the Avengers: Infinity War and its sequel share common elements, it won’t be a “story cut in half” and they will be two distinctive movies.
