Awkwafina is one of the busiest young actresses in Hollywood right now, but she somehow managed to find time for another exciting movie. She just landed the titular role in the adaption of hit young adult novel The Last Adventure of Constance Verity.

A. Lee Martinez wrote the book this movie will be based on, and here’s what its official description has to say about the titular heroine and her unusual journey: “Constance Verity has been saving the world since she was seven, and she’s sick of it. She sets off on one last adventure to assassinate her fairy godmother and become the one thing she’s never been: ordinary.”

Martinez also wrote the sequel, Constance Verity Saves the World, and she’s currently working on the third novel in this book series. Long story short, if things work out for the best, we could even get an entire franchise with Awkwafina in the lead role!

We’ll have to wait a bit, though, since her schedule seems pretty packed. After receiving rave reviews for her role in The Farewell, Awkwafina joined the upcoming sequel Jumanji: The Next Level and live-action remake of The Little Mermaid. She’s also developing a Comedy Central series based on her life.
