Ayo Edebiri has been booked and busy all year long, and she’s already making plans for the future. The Emmy-nominated actress said she’d like to join forces with Paul Mescal for a romantic comedy in the vein of the 2013 film About Time.
Ayo Edebiri and Paul Mescal became pretty good friends in recent months, and they’re hoping they’ll get to collaborate in the future. The Bear star said she’d like to star in a romantic comedy with the Oscar-nominated actor, as soon as someone sends them a good script.
“I honestly would also really enjoy seeing him try his hand at comedy. It has to be in an About Time vibe. Something that’s got, like, a heart, so he can still flex his drama muscles where it’s like, the covert rom-com. Like, still a rom-com, but we got to get something inventive,” said Edebiri.
2023 has been a pretty memorable year for Edebiri, who appeared in countless high-profile projects, both on the small and big screen. In addition to returning for the second season of The Bear, she also played the lead role in the teen comedy Bottoms, voiced characters in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, and played supporting roles in Theatre Camp and Black Mirror.
