The Batman will be returning.
But Ben Affleck will not be behind the mask…
Bruce Wayne’s character has seen many incarnations, with actors like Val Kilmer, George Clooney, and Christian Bale all taking on the role of the billionaire vigilante.
The most recent man to embody the Batsuit was Affleck who starred in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League. But the 46-year-old is now passing on the gauntlet. Deadline has reported that the Caped Crusader will next return in 2021.
While no one has been attached to star as the titular character just yet, The Batman will be written and directed by Matt Reeves who brought us Cloverfield and more recently, War for the Planet of the Apes.
