The Hollywood Reporter confirms that the CW is moving forward with a Batwoman stand-alone series.

The new of a pilot order was announced Thursday. Emmy-winning Game of Thrones director is on board to direct the pilot. Also tapped for the production are showrunner and writer Caroline Dries (The Vampire Diaries) and exec producer Greg Berlanti.

The pilot order has also made history as Rose’s Batwoman marks the first gay lead character of a live-action superhero series played by an openly gay Rose.
