The Beatles are set to sail back into theatres.

It’s been 50 years since the Fab Four released their 4th film, Yellow Submarine.

The animated movie was named after one of the group’s most famous songs and features John, Paul, George, and Ringo having to save the inhabitants of Pepperland when they come under attack from the Blue Meanies.

Now, to celebrate five decades since its psychedelic debut in 1968, Yellow Submarine will be re-released in cinemas throughout the United States.

“We’re thrilled to have the privilege of bringing Yellow Submarine back to the big screen so that 3 generations of happy Beatles fans can enjoy the ground-breaking animation and classic tunes and that have long been part of our collective cultural DNA,” says CEO of Abramora, Richard Abramovitz, who is behind the re-release.

Despite the foursome not actually providing their own voices for the film, their groovy tunes are definitely features, including the titular Yellow Submarine, Eleanor Rigby, When I’m Sixty-Four, All You Need is Love, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, and A Day in the Life.

We can’t wait to “hold their hand” come the 8th of July!
