Season 3 of Ramy is just around the corner and the return of our favorite characters isn’t the only reason why we’re excited about it. The first trailer for the upcoming season is here and it offers the first glimpse of the model Bella Hadid in her debut acting role.

Hadid doesn’t get to do much in the first trailer, and she’s only briefly shown as her character Lena. She’s set to play the new “weirdo girlfriend” of Ramy’s friend Steve (Steve Way), who he met on the dating app, Muslim Match, but how did she agree to be on the show?

Ramy Youssef and Hadid recently discussed her casting with GQ and he revealed he simply emailed her out of the blue and hoped for the best. To his surprise, Hadid said yes, which was quite a shocker because her character is involved in one of “the weirdest scripts” they’ve ever written.

The new trailer for Season 3 sees Ramy once again questioning his place in the world, caught between his religious Muslim community and personal journey of self-discovery. Season 3 will premiere on Hulu on September 30, and it will also see Laith Nakli, Hiam Abbass, Amr Waked, May Calamawy, Dave Merheje, and Mohammed Ame return to their respective roles.
