Benedict Cumberbatch doesn’t just play a crime-fighter on screen — he’s one in real life too.

Life imitated art for the Doctor Strange star when he found himself rescuing a cyclist who was being mugged.

The incident occurred in London where the 41-year-old and his wife were in a taxi at the time. According to the Uber driver, Benedict saw a food delivery cyclist being hit over the head with a bottle and jumped out of the vehicle.

“I went to turn down into Marylebone High Street and we saw four guys were pushing around a Deliveroo cyclist,” said Manuel Dias. “My passenger jumped out, ran over and pulled the men away. They turned towards him and things looked like getting worse, so I joined in. He stood there instructing them in the street, shouting, ‘Leave him alone’.”

In true Cumberbatch style, the actor was modest regarding his heroic feat, simply saying, “I did it out of, well, I had to, you know…”

And if that wasn’t cool enough, the entire incident took place near Baker Street — where Sherlock Holmes lives!

Elementary, of course.
